His new home was the Mavros land at Mpata Farm, and he was named Boy. He developed a great bond with his handler and a pet zebra, but soon outgrew both. In 1999, Boy joined a bigger family of elephants that were once orphaned and are now trained to carry game scouts and visitors on patrols of a large game reserve.
