The mycelium is typically grown on a mixture of Swedish rye and straw, although sometimes we grow it solely on straw or rye. Giant oyster mushrooms are a beautiful and easy to grow species from Eastern Europe. The mushroom resembles the porcini to some extent but is a gilled mushroom with a chestnut colored cap, 68 cm in diameter. It can grow huge, with a diameter of 20 cm or more. Giant oyster mushrooms
